I have been decorating homes for over 30 years. How I design has largely been formed by my passions, travels, and the designer’s I’ve worked for, each of whom were very talented and had their own unique style, philosophies, and clients.
My own philosophy has been greatly influenced by the English and American Country style of decorating, the designers, both British and American, who mastered it. Equally important are their recipes to create rooms that embrace history, nature, and living well while being practical, comfortable, and beautiful.
The home I share with my family is on a small farm, Hopes Hill, in rural Ohio. Living in the country with dogs, horses, and our kid's cows and pigs has contributed to my work being more thoughtful, creative, and certainly more humble. Our dogs sleep on the sofa and we don’t always leave our boots at the door...but, our home is a reflection of who we are and how we live. It is the place we want to be whenever possible.
I believe the ingredients for good design are the same and have a broad appeal whether it’s a country house or a home in the city, traditional or modern. It’s really about enjoying home to the fullest.
